Maths Homework Policy
Homework reinforces and consolidates the work done in class and should be an integral part of all Maths courses. Work set should be realistic in terms of difficulty and quantity, but should also be challenging. Homework should be marked promptly and feedback provided to the pupils.
Overview
Homework can include work from the following categories:
· Completion of work started in class
· Revision of class work
· Investigative work
· Formal 'ink' exercises
This list is not exhaustive.
Homework, where possible, should be given for a set day a week. This encourages good habits and helps parents support us and their child. Homework should be added to 'Show My Homework' and pupils regularly encouraged to log onto the website.
In S1 Homework is set on a nightly basis using Zeta Maths. Otherwise pupils will be given formal Cumulative homework on a fortnightly basis with the other week used for corrections.
Pupils should be encouraged to start their work early and ask for help if they are unsure of any content.
