S1 CAT tests

Dear Parent/ Carer,

I am writing to inform you that we are conducting CAT (Cognitive Abilities Tests) with all of our first year pupils over a period of around two weeks starting from Monday 25^th September.   The test is in three parts and all are done on computer.  Each test takes around 45 minutes to complete.  Pupils will need Earbud Headphones for the tests, the type that come with mobile phones are fine.  Please remind your child to bring in their Earbud Headphones from Monday 25^th.

The data gathered from these tests helps to underpin teaching methodology and ensure all learners needs are being met.

Pupils cannot study for these tests and should not be unduly anxious about them, we hope you can reinforce this message at home.
